For new water or gas service, you must bring personal identification information and service address to the Water and Gas Department, City-County Building, 201 West Main Street, Scottsville, Kentucky.

All new service request require security deposit as follows:

• Water - $100
• Gas - $150

For new home construction tap fees in addition to security deposit are as follows:

• Water - $1,000+
• Sewer - $1,000+
• Gas - $1,000+
• Garbage - $19

Add a can for $7/month

Cold Weather Water Tips

• Leave the faucet farthest from your water meter on a drip
• Unhook your garden hose from your house spigot
• Keep your garage door closed if not needed
• Open the cabinet below your sink (remove dangerous materials from children/pets)
• Keep your heat at a minimum of 65 degrees, and turn circulation fan on (not auto)
• Use space heaters in cold areas (don’t leave them unattended)
• Make sure your pipes, windows and doors are fully insulated
• Know where your water shut-off valve is in case of a burst water pipe
